The course assumes fundamental clinical skills in history taking and physical examination and attempts to build on those skills to address the differences associated with the virtual environment. The course offers a brief introduction to virtual visits, provides guidance for demonstrating communication and empathy, and offers best practices for taking a patient history and conducting a physical examination based on organ system. Practitioners will also discover the limitations of a virtual exam.
